Formed in 1962, Newcastle Yacht Club is nestled at the heart of Dundrum Bay, beside the harbour at the foot of the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland. The sailing season runs from Easter through the summer to the end of October.
We welcome new members and offer dinghy racing and have an active social membership. We hold an open day in late April / early May and offer training sessions following that on Thursdays in May.
Race events are held on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. In the summer the club offers a training facility for members and non-members to learn how to sail or improve their techniques. We have an active social scene and always welcome new members.
The club boasts a wide range of craft. We have a number of RS boats including RS200, RS400, RS Vision and RS Feva. We also have many Mirrors, Scorpions, Lasers and Toppers in the fleet. The original class were Seaflys many of which are still sailing today.
You could always download our member handbook free of charge which will also give you information on sailing at Newcastle and a feel for club life.
