Newcastle Yacht Club is an RYA Training Centre. We are recognised by the RYA to run learn to sail courses for both Youth and Adults. Youths follow Stages 1 to 4 of The Youth Sailing Scheme, which usually takes a few seasons to complete.
Adults follow Levels 1 and 2 of The National Sailing Scheme. Once the basics are learnt Adults and Youth can then go on to do more advanced courses which we run, sailing with spinnakers, seamanship skills. The table below will give more information about these courses.

Sailing with Spinnakers
A very short syllabus which probably packs the most fun of all the RYA courses. Everything you need to know to enjoy modern, three-sail boats.
Seamanship Skills
Further develops, polishes the skills learnt at Stage 4. You will do lots of problem solving afloat all which will leave you a much more confident
and self-sufficient sailor.
Sailing with Spinnakers
